Located in one of NY’s more sought-after residential condo buildings, this 500 square foot roof terrace sits immediately adjacent the amenity roof deck on the North side of the building. The client’s active outdoor entertainment program required a strategic and thoughtful approach to a planting scheme that would assert itself as a lush backdrop to this predominantly shaded space. With limited direct sunlight, thoughtful selection and placement of perennials, trailers and vines was key. Stainless cables help train the vines in lateral sweeps that reinforce the horizontal lines within the wood-rich space. With time, the walls of the terrace will envelop the owners amidst a verdant landscape that evolves in shades of green.
