Private Residence - 1 Harbour Green

Vancouver, BC, Canada

Landscape Architect / Project Manager - with Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg

PFS was solicited to design a nearly 4,000 SF terrace as a tenant-improvement to their newly purchased unit in this award-winning residential tower on the Vancouver harbourfront. As Project Manager, I led the client from conceptual design through to completion. Shallow depth from finish grade to structure posed a unique challenge to the conceptual approach. Three exterior spaces were conceived, each responding to their respective interior program - an intimate water garden adjacent the master bedroom, the fire-side room adjacent the kitchen, and large space adjacent the living area served to preserve the prow-like view to the harbour and North Shore mountains beyond. The introduction of topography, a raised deck floating just above a raised water feature, and a curated selection of plant material work to conceal each space as more privacy was sought along the axial pathway.

Role on the Project:

  • Project Manager

  • Design presentation and production of documents for bidding

  • Bidding and Procurement

  • Construction Management
